I've an excuse I swear

Hey there ,

So firstly I'm sorry, sorry for vanishing, sorry for breaking my promise to write a blog regularly sorry for just sucking at this but I've had a lot going on with my life.

At the end of the summer some of you will know I was studying to sit my exams which I had missed in May due to being in hospital, well during that period I had a really rough time with personal stuff at home, it wasn't nice and was very difficult to just move on but as you guys know when times are tough you kinda have to just deal with them, not let them hurt you, affect you or break you up inside. Usually I am very good at doing these things but this time I found it incredibly difficult and kinda went into a personal hibernation for a number of weeks. I needed to deal with issues at home and found it very hard to speak to anyone about it. Of course karma being karma my exams happened at the same time which was possibly the worst thing to happen yet in some way the best. I found it horrible to concentrate on the exams, focus on doing well, because basically l had lost all faith in my ability to do well. The good news is I passed and I am in 2nd year now.

I wont go any more into what happened because lets be honest here this is a beauty blog and the above has nothing to do with being beautiful. I would like to say one thing which I believe is important to be beautiful. When things are tough its okay to cry, to feel, to love, to hate just remember to smile at the end of it because even though it may of been a horrible time YOU got through it and thats something special. We all have days when we feel alone, vulnerable and lost, trust me its normal but your never alone! 

I turned 20 last month, passed my exams , started second year, got a new job, moved into my own place and started learning about who I am in the space of 3 weeks.  It's a lot, its scary, its emotional, its worrying, its stressful, its sad, but most of all its mine! I can close my front door every night and not feel I've lost control thats a feeling I haven't been able to shift for a very very long time and its incredible. 

I guess this post is strange, perhaps many of you will of stopped reading it by now but if your still here, thank you ! you guys have been amazing and I appreciate each and every one of you, for your individuality.

Please remember beauty is the strength you hold within and thats something only you have control over

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice- I shower every morning and wash every evening, but if I need a freshening up I would use a baby wipe J

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo)
Mmmm, I get dry patchs around my nose and by my cheeks in the winter but I would consider myself to have normal skin usually.

-What is your current facial wash?
I’m actually using a clean and clear one at the moment which I usually wouldn’t use and would usually use the Neutrogena 2-1 which I adore.

-Do you exfoliate?
Yes I try to exfoliate once a week maybe every other week, but in the winter I do find I need to do it every week religiously.

-What brand do you use?
I use the Neutrogena scrub.

-What moisturizer do you use?
Snce starting to use the garnier cleanser (review to follow) I have found that I don’t need a moisturizer but in the winter I use the garnie pure A.

-Do you have freckles?
Yes - I love/hate them.

-Do you use eye cream?
Not yet

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I’ve always been incredibly lucky and although I may get A spot its hormonal and is not a common accordance, touch wood it stays that way.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Nope.

MAKE-UP

-What foundation do you use?
Revlon Colour stay and Revlon Photoready!

-How about concealer?
I rarely use a concealer but when I do recently I’ve been using the natural collection one, cheep and cheerful and also the new Maybelline super stay foundation. Now wait I can explain myself here, I bought it in a colour far to pale for me and have been tabbing the tiniest, tiniest bit just under my eyes and it works amazingly

-Do you know your undertone colour?
I would say I am pink undertoned but neutral on my forehead and chest (I have to be different)

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yup, but I have been know to keep them for a bit longer if there lasting okay, and I regularly disinfect my Mascara wands.

-What brand of mascara do you use?
Currently I am using a cheepy, natural collection- lash build but I love Maybelline, if you can get past the smell..

-Sephora or MAC?
I have never shopped in a Sephora as we haven’t got one in Ireland (DUH) and I have never been to America so it’s got to be MAC.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
everything, fingers and brushes.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

I did, urban decay primer potion but I have recently ran out so I need to re purchase.

-For the face?
Not at the moment, I was trying out a penny’s/Primark one which costs €3 and surprised me about how good it was, not amazing but for the price I wouldn’t say no.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Sable I think.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Yes I love liquid, pencil and gel.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

I really don’t ever do that….

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I Love them, but the effort of actually dealing with the mess they can cause….

-Do you use mineral makeup?
I haven’t as of yet, I love liquid foundation and the dewy look and I just have this pre-judged Idea that it will make me VERY VERY matt .

-What is your favorite lipstick?
I only own the one, and its ANGEL so I guess I love Angel (I actually have two angels so I defo love it)

-How about lipgloss?
Again I only own one Mac dazzleglass and its Sugar rimmed .

-What is your favorite blush to use?
Nars Orgasm, I have one from a hello kitty make up set from H&m which I adore also.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
I haven’t bought and make up from ebay…..YET.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
I love it. I’m a strong believer in buying drugstore. I LOVE high end but If I can find a cheaper opinion I am all for it. I have a lot of natural collections products for example and there lovely obviously not as good quality as MAC for example but at the price I don’t really mind.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
I haven’t yet.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes I would love to do that. I really wonted to be a make-up artist growing up but then I got the scholarship to study Journalism and obviously grabbed that with two hands but I certainly would still love to do a professional make up class.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I don’t tend to me, I have had the mascara on the eye lid scenario but other then that I’m okay, I think…

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
pencilled/drew in eyebrows!! Oh and two tone make up, face orange neck white WHY!!!

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I do, out of all my friends I would be the least afraid of colour, I love coral lips, pink lips, red lips etc and I have been known to try out green and blues on my eyes. Why not?

-Which celebrity always has great make up?
Kardashians!!!! GORGEOUS! I also think the Jennifer Aniston and Cheryl Cole always look amazing!

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item,what would you use?
Mascara, I look like I am fast asleep without it I really think it wake you up.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Unfortunately I really don’t, I would have ‘little’ make up days where I would only wear mascara, lip balm and a tiny bit of foundation but I really feel completely uncomfortable wearing no make up.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
no

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I would have to say MAC. They have been able to continuously attack people for so many years.

-What do you think of Makeup?
I find it therapeutic, if I am having a bad day; I lock myself into my room and mess about with make up looks. It’s sad but make up allows me to feel good about myself and I think its amazing what is does to other people’s confidence.

Most astonishing hand cream ever?

My name is Becky and I am addicted to handcreams.....

They say the first step is admitting it, such a weight off my shoulders.

I really do love hand cream, I have to have one in my handbag, my bedside locker and my my make-up area.I love hand creams!

So quite some time ago I picked up the Soap and glory 'Hand food' I picked up the little bottle as I like that size for my handbag..

Pros

*Its hydrating

*It smells very nice and not over powering

*It has really helped my Cuticles

*Strengthened my nails

* soaks into your skin fast yet leaves them moisturised

Cons

*It claims to be non-greasy yet I personally found it greasy when you first apply it.

As you can tell there are far more pros then cons.

I give soap and glory 'hand food' a big thumbs up.

I am not sure how much it retails for in Ireland I think I paid about €3.50 but it does say on their website that it is 2.25 sterling

Line those Lippies

Hey doll's

So today I taught I would share my lip liners with you just because I was a bit puzzled about what else I could post about and this felt like a nice easy post and then I tried to take pictures, with a HD camera, of swatches of Lip liners swatched on a hand that that is full of little needle holes from being in Hospital.

Sunday face of the day (beware there is a lot of pitures)

Heya Doll's

So its Sunday, the most relaxing day of the week in my opinion there is something about Sundays that screams, cups of teas and day time telly, or is that just me....MMMM....

So as I have already mentioned I have been ill for a few weeks and today is the first day I've decided to put a bit of make-up on to cheer myself up a bit.

I'm going to see a friend a bit later for a hour, manly to get out of the house for a bit and start getting back to normal.

For this make-up look I opted for soft pink lips and cheeks and soft smoky eyes...
